headquartered in Marshalltown, IA, provides best-of-class wireless voice, data and video solutions to the Public Safety industry. The Company also owns and operates one of the largest communication networks for Public Safety customers in the Country - the RACOM Network. RACOM serves the upper Midwest with future-proof, cost effective and configurable network solutions.
Critical communication users have
experienced a convergence of
radio, telephone, computer and internet technologies. Consequently, they're
looking for partnerships with organizations that have the expertise to manage and integrate
all the hardware and software technologies they use.
Occasional phone support, remote
diagnostics, and a come-and-gone project management aren't
enough. Users
want experienced local service and accountability 24 x 7.
RACOM has uniquely met these demands with
expertise ranging from E9-1-1, VoIP/RoIP, Wireless Voice and Data Systems,
Network Operation and IT/Internet Services, along with local
service and customer support that is available 24x7.365.
RACOM also started the industry
trend where customers have moved from purchasing entire radio
systems -- the equipment and all the associated infrastructure
such as towers, antennas, buildings, etc. -- and toward using
interoperable communication
networks. These networks are shared among many users, cover
large geographic areas and address the need for direct voice and
data communications
among public safety and public service organizations.
RACOM also coupled its expertise as a network operator and
wireless internet service provider with its understanding of
public safety needs to deliver secure mesh and Broadband Mobile Data networks to communities
in the upper Midwest. Public Safety agencies need
consistent data rates over 256Kbps to support the mobility of live video
streams and large data and image files.
RACOM
serves approximately 10,000 customers and has 13 branch offices
and customers in the upper Midwest.
